Luddites Anonymous - Things 1-3

My name is Kieron, and I'm a Luddite.
OK, so I don't dress in a fetching smock like the one modelled by Ned Ludd in the picture above, nor do I rampage around the countryside smashing looms, or computers, but I am quite resistant to the technological changes associated with Web 2.0. Given that I am still resisting buying my first mobile phone (am I the only person in the country without one?), is it surprising that I have always believed that blogs, Facebook and Twitter are a waste of time and only used by people who need to get a life - apologies to all my colleagues who regularly use such social networks ;-)

Having said that, however, I do use YouTube, Facebook (occasionally), and post to various history and/or politics forums and message boards, so I'm not a complete Web 2.0 technophobe. I simply remain to be convinced that Web 2.0 is of benefit to my personal life, or where work is concerned, that it really is the best way to inform and communicate with the University's staff and students. I am a sceptic but I'm hoping that this 23 Things course will persuade me otherwise.
